We are seeking a seasoned AS400 L2/L3 Support Engineer with strong hands-on experience
in RPG, RPGLE, CLP, CLLE, and ALDON version control tools to provide support for business-
critical Core Banking or Enterprise applications running on the IBM i (AS/400) platform.
The role involves
incident resolution, root
cause analysis, minor
code enhancements,
and collaborating with
business and
infrastructure teams to
maintain application
stability and performance.
Area
Incident & Problem
Management (L2/L3)
Analyze and resolve AS400 application incidents, job
failures, batch issues, and data discrepancies.
Code Debugging &
Minor Enhancements
Identify and fix bugs, implement small enhancements using
RPG, RPGLE, CLP, and CLLE.
Job Monitoring &
Recovery
Monitor scheduled jobs, batch processes, and queues.
Restart abended jobs and coordinate recovery.
Ticket Management Work on incidents, service requests, and problem tickets
raised in ServiceNow or equivalent ITSM tools.
Application Deployment
(ALDON)
Package and deploy code changes using ALDON or
TurnOver; ensure version control and proper approvals.
Root Cause Analysis &
RCA Documentation
Perform detailed RCA on recurring incidents or performance
issues. Propose permanent fixes.
Testing & UAT Support Assist in unit testing, UAT coordination, and environment
refreshes or data loads.
Stakeholder
Communication
Liaise with business users, QA, infra, and L1/L2 support for
resolution updates and clarifications.
Knowledge Base &
Documentation
Create/update SOPs, KT documents, job runbooks, and
operational checklists.
